British Sovereign “Edward VII” Gold Coin Jewelry
Featuring the notorious “Sporting King”

The most popular and coveted gold coins in the world, British Sovereigns make superb jewelry.

Minted from 1902 to 1910, the Edward VII design is more scarce than the later George V design. The obverse features a portrait of Edward VII, the famous” Sporting King,” and the reverse depicts the mythical scene of Saint George slaying the dragon.

King Edward was the second child and eldest son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Notorious for extramarital affairs, he became an icon of sorts in both sporting and social circles. Edward VII restored charisma and luster to the British throne after the waning years of Victoria’s reign. An excellent judge of character, he surrounded himself with brilliant military leaders who kept England poised and ready in the years leading up to World War I.

Known as “the most trusted coins in the world,” British Sovereigns were included in the survival kits of American pilots during both World War II and Desert Storm.
